Virginia State Fair Today

by Staff on October 6, 2013

Farm Bureau VA State FairThey get it.   They did justice to the farmers of Virginia.  Today is the last day of the 2013 State Fair of Virginia, and already the great reviews are beginning to pour in.  This is the first year that the fair is wholly sponsored by the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation, and people are generally quite pleased with the entertaining and informative way that Farm Bureau has presented the exhibits with a definite focus on farms.

The weather was perfect for the Fair.  And the Moo U tours introduced the kids to local produce and livestock.  Adults who attended learned the answer to universal conundrums such as:  why does a cow chew its cud?  how many eggs does a chicken lay in a week? (a topic we’ve covered in depth HERE);  is there such a thing as beer soap?  and how many cows does it take to keep the NFL in footballs for a season?

You have a couple of choices.  You can worry and wonder about those answers until next year’s Fair.  Or you can still get to the Fair today to learn for yourself.  Or you can get the answers HERE in this article.    Good job, Farm Bureau.
